Grants for charitable purposes are available for registered Waikato Raupatu Marae, and Waikato-Tainui tribal members who reside in New Zealand, and also for other groups in New Zealand whose services or activities may provide benefit to Waikato-Tainui tribal members.

Please note: The Waikato Raupatu Lands Trust TRUST DEED and restrictions in the INCOME TAX ACT relating to the trust's charitable tax exempt status, only allow charitable tribal funds to be expended within New Zealand (with the exception of special activities connected to a core business of the organisation).

Charitable purposes are defined as follows:

  • relief of poverty;
  • advancement of education;
  • advancement of religion; and
  • other purposes beneficial to the community.
